Night

"I want to wake to the sounds of rain; Of it dancing on the glass; Then like honey running down the windowpane. It settles in me some noise; Some yearning for closed skies and darker nights; For the silence of god; To be seen only in her eyes. But the day still breaks: searing its likeness into the sky; Crisp blue fire; Blinding; Sterilising my inspirations; Words become ash in my mouth; The terrible action of creation withers and dies in daylight. But as night blankets us again in all its predatory beauty; I would take a knife to the stars; and carve her name upon the heavens; so all may know why the night belongs to her."

Wander, Wonderer.

Wander, wonderer; Lose yourself; Shed yourself like lizard skin and bathe in the sun; Naked; Revealed; Bereft of concern; Jazz-like; Smoke drifting through the air on a lazy Sunday, moved only by the motion of lovers steps. Allow yourself the path; The road less travelled; Be a shrike to the world; Prickled thorns be not your enemy; But aqua regia for the soul; Transmutation; Lesser made whole by movement; Not destination; Allow yourself the path less travelled; And you will find distant lands of song and splendour. Embrace me, then; As a tree the sun; As a leaf the crack of a boot; Natural; Accepted; Inevitable like a lovers grip; Like a rivers path; Like the grave; But bury me shallow; So I may feel the rain upon my skin. And I do so love the touch of rain.

Untitled

Dawn breaks in a way only known to sea ice under a seasons change; Under the knife known by its edge; And nothing less; Slice; dear sun; and bring forth the day; Rapturous decline; Sleep. But you will learn to love me; Fading into the light; All things revealed; Hope of the night; Obsidian dreams concealed; Survive; Push through: Embrace; Make right; She waits henceforth; As winter does; As a predator; Gift giver; So hunt, or hunted. The night is her property; Tenancy leased and gifted; A mistress; Confined; Defined; Aligned; Inclined to worship; Breaking under the sun; Return. No end; Only pause as the wind does; As the ocean does; As we all do; And you will learn to love me.

Rodeo of Angels

“A rodeo of angels; Upon the back of God; Giggling at the fortuned sons; And brandishing the Devils rod The primate song beneath them; its dissonance unfurled; Its tune a broken violin of stories left untold..”

The Parlay of Love

“I met her there, upon my road to awe; And watched the roses’ shameful retreat; For she became my world once more; And parlayed me to lustful defeat; Her eyes cut me as diamonds do; Her voice was silence gold; Yet in my worries all I could see is us both as we grew old.”
